KTB, the largest public transport bus operator in Malaysia, has introduced a new airport bus service known as “KL City Airport” through its subsidiary company Skypark Coaches Sdn Bhd (Skypark Coaches) with its first route from Pekeliling Bus Terminal to Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang with pick-up and drop-off points at Plaza Damas, eCurves Mutiara Damansara and Kelana Jaya LRT. Four additional routes with at least 16 new pick-up points surrounding Klang Valley will also be introduced in the coming months.
The service is aimed at providing bus transport accessibility to the general public living within the vicinities of designated pick-up points or along all LRT/KTM commuter routes to travel to Subang Lapang Terbang whether to go to work, to board an airplane or for any reason. Initially, the bus service starts as early as 6:00am from Pekeliling Bus Terminal and 7:30am from Subang Airport with service interval between 30 minutes to one hour. The schedule will be adjusted from time to time according to the need and demand from the public. KL City Airport shuttle coach also provides a more frequent bus service plying from Kelana Jaya LRT to Subang Airport to facilitate Rapid LRT passengers to catch a connecting bus to Subang Airport.
Tickets for the service can be purchased onboard the bus. Skypark Coaches will also be introducing prepaid cards for frequent travelers whom with a minimum top up of RM100, they are entitled to additional ringgits added as top-up value into their cards. In addition, Skypark Coaches will also provide “lunch service” bus for resident of Subang Airport to go for lunch at nearby shopping mall for a very reasonable return fare of just RM1.
